VereID™ Biosystem
The importance of user-friendly, faster, more accurate and better diagnostics to allow for early detection and diagnosis of diseases has long been recognised. Hence, Veredus has launched a novel solution as to meet the needs of the consumer. The VereID™ Biosystem comprises of a Temperature Control System, Optical Reader, Biosystem Software and Bar Code Reader. This Biosystem drives our proprietary VereChips, and achieves user-friendly, specific, sensitive and speedy diagnosis that allows for surveillance.

Temperature Control System (TCS)
The Temperature Control System (TCS) is a high precision thermal cycler that drives the VereChip™. The TCS can run up to five different tests and protocols simultaneously or at different points of time without having to wait for all the modules to complete their cycles. It is modular and can be scaled to accommodate the needs of both large diagnostic settings and point-of-care (POC) applications. |

Optical Reader
The Optical Reader is a compact instrument that captures and analyzes the microarray in a few seconds. The optimal optics settings are automatically selected and this makes it particularly suited for minimally-trained personnel and point-of-care (POC) applications. |

Biosystem Software
Our proprietary software allows the user to control PCR settings and monitor the progress of the reaction taking place in the chip at all points in time. It is also capable of providing highly detailed microarray analysis as well as actual diagnostic report under central lab or patient point-of-care setting. The software and system is highly user friendly as any user can be easily trained to operate the platform. |

VereChip™ - Customisable to suit your needs
By merging two robust and time-tested technologies, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and microarray, into a single chip, we have created a test that combines the high sensitivity and specificity of the (PCR) with the powerful identification capability of the microarray to provide answers to multiple questions within the shortest possible timeframe in a single test. Several applications may be developed on this novel Lab-on-Chip. It is highly customisable and may be tailored to suit the customer's specific needs. Some of the applications developed for this chip includes VereFlu™ and VereThreat™ with many more applications in the pipeline. VereFlu™ - Detects and Identifies Human Influenza A and B in a Single Test
Download VereFlu™ Brochure
The threat of an influenza pandemic propels the need of a fast and reliable test for the detection of seasonal human influenza, with the capability to identify and differentiate flu subtypes. In patients with suspected pandemic flu, rapid identification of patients who will develop severe symptoms is critical for effective management and positive outcome. When used on patients at the earliest stages of disease, these tests will have prognostic value, rapidly identifying those who are suffering from seasonal flu from those who are suffering from pandemic flu. This will lead to better resource management through more efficient allocation of limited supplies of vaccines, diagnostic ests, hospital beds, quarantine facilities, as well as manpower in terms of health care workers. |

VereThreat™ - Detection, Differentiation and Identification of: Anthrax, Plague, Small Pox and Tularemia in One Test
Download VereThreat™ Brochure
Biological weapons include any pathogen (bacterium, virus or other disease-causing organism) or biotoxin that can be used to kill, seriously injure or incapacitate an adversary. Biological weapons are characterized by low visibility, high lethality, broad accessibility, and relatively easy delivery. The potential spectrum of bioterrorism
ranges from hoaxes and use of non–mass casualty agents by individuals or small groups in small scale targeted attacks to statesponsored terrorism that employs biological weapons of mass destruction. The threat that biological agents will be used on military forces and civilian populations is now more likely than at any point in all of history. In response to the growing global threat posed by biological weapons, Veredus has developed VereThreat™ - a Lab-on-Chip application that can detect, differentiate and identify major biological agents
in one test. VereThreat™ can be deployed at a point of need setting with sample to results in about 2-3 hours with the aim of identifying the agent to facilitate prompt treatment and action. The sensitivity and accuracy and user friendliness would enable it to be used at ports, borders, postal offices, train stations, airports, military sites, etc. |

Diagnostic Kits
Other than VereID™ Biosystem, Veredus also has Diagnostics kits developed to meet the needs of its consumers. Such diagnostic kits include PCR detection kits, Rapid Tests and ELIZA. Contact Veredus Laboratories for a more detailed catalogue. |

PCR detection kits
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), a proven and powerful technique, is able to perform exponential amplification of DNA. Each cycle involves the denaturation of double stranded DNA, followed by annealing of sequence-specific primers to target sites and eventually elongation to form twice the amount of double stranded DNA. With subsequent cycles, the DNA amount will be increased substantially to easily detectable amounts.
Our PCR detection kits are DNA amplification kits developed to provide a fast and accurate detection with high sensitivity and specificity. |
| |
Rapid Tests
Our Rapid Tests are mostly CE marked, developed to ensure that early diagnosis be made available as accurately as possible. |
| |
ELISA
Also available as Veredus' products is a range of ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), which are able to perform accurate and prompt detection. |
